Identification of Mycobacterium fortuitum isolated from post-operative wound




Abstract
This study is an identification of bacteria isolated from post-operative wound. The results as follows:
1. Staphylococcus aureus and a strain of atypical mycobacterium were isolated from the postoperative lesion.
2. The atypical mycobacteria were identified rapid grower of nonphotochrogenic Mycobacterium fortuitum by the general identification methods.
3. Isolated strain of Mycobacterium fortuitum was relatively resistant to the first and second
choice of antituberculosis drug except cyclocerin (100mcg/ml).
4. In vivo test by use of chimpmunk, the organisms were found out the lung at the 16th day after inoculation.
